History


Established by King Harald V, in commemoration of Norway's emancipation in 1905, and Norway having a national King for the first time since 1397, this Medal was conferred upon members of the Royal Family, descendants of King Haakon and Queen Maud, and individuals who rendered services in relation to the celebration of the centenary, such as police chiefs, Parliamentary Presidents, Norwegian Church Bishops, government members, and county governors.
