History

This Medal is conferred upon Norwegian and foreign, military and civilian personnel, who have rendered meritorious effort to the Home Guard.

From it's institution to 2006, the obverse design of the medal consisted of a royal crown encircled by a laurel wreath. From 2006, the obverse design consisted of the Home Guard emblem, encircled by a laurel wreath. There may be a price change associated with the different obverse designs.
