History


The Medal for the Defence of Kelat-I-Ghilzie was established by General Order in 1842 following the successful defence of the fort at Kelat-I-Ghilzie from February to May 1842 during the First Afghan War. It was awarded to all Indian and British troops who served in the campaign.
