History
The Queen’s Mediterranean Medal was instituted by King Edward VII and established by Army Order in 1902. It is awarded to British volunteer and military groups who replaced regular troops in Mediterranean garrisons and who guarded Boer prisoners of war during the Anglo-Boer War between 1899 and 1902.
A variety of different naming styles were used.
