The East Indian Railway Company Royal Visit to India Medal 1911 was instituted in commemoration of King's George V and Queen Mary's royal visit to India in 1911. It is believed that the Medal was presented to members of the Honour Guard of the East Indian Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps and to employees of the company during the royal tour, however, there is limited information regarding this item. It is estimated that approximately 30 Medals were issued.
