History


The Jubilee Mayors and Provosts Medal 1897 was instituted in commemoration of Queen Victoria's 60th anniversary of the accession. The Medal was presented in Gold and Silver during the Diamond Jubilee on June 20, 1897. Gold Medals were presented to Lord Mayors and Lord Provosts while Silver Medals were presented to Mayors and Provosts. Approximately 14 Gold and 512 Silver Medals were presented.

Small silver souvenir medals were also made available for private purchase, but these are not featured.
