The Royal Visit to Nigeria Medal was issued in commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's visit to Nigeria between January 28 and February 16, 1956. It was presented to local Nigerian dignitaries and to members of the royal party. Approximately 650 Medals were issued.
