History
The Maharajah of Burdwan's Medal for Gallant Conduct (Burning of HMS Goliath 1875) was established by the Maharajah of Burdwan and the Lord Mayor of London in 1875. The Medal was presented to boys who were training onboard the HMS Goliath when it caught on fire on December 22, 1975, in recognition of distinguished conduct and gallantry performed during the accident.
