History


The Naval Engineer's Good Conduct Medal was instituted in 1842 but discontinued in 1847. The Medal was restruck in 1875 and again at a later date. Only 7 Medals were awarded between 1842 and 1847.

There are multiple versions of the Medal. The original Medal features a grooved rim, while the first restrike features a grained rim and the second a plain rim.

There may be additional versions of the Medal which differ by distinct design features.
