History

The Frock Coat was worn by Heer Clergy (Army Chaplains and Field Bishops) when the service dress was not appropriate. It is a single breasted and waisted coat that goes down to the knee.

The most noticeable feature is the violet piping around the upper edge to the collar, down the length of the front edge, and around the upper edges to the cuffs.
The coat has an upright collar and turn-back cuffs. It is closed by eight silver-white metal buttons down the front, and has another two buttons in the back at waist level.

The buttons are gold-coloured for Field Bishops.
