History
The Surcoat was introduced on November 12, 1934. It was worn over the Greatcoat by drivers of open vehicles or for guard duty for extra insulation.
The coat is of field-grey colour and in the same style as the greatcoat. The collar on earlier models is dark blue-green, which was later changed to field-grey. It has additional slash pockets above the side pockets and is significantly longer than the greatcoat, almost reaching down to the ankles. It also comes with a hood.
