History
An early version of a jacket specifically made for Mountain Troops was introduced during the early stages of Wehrmacht’s development. However, it was not used very often.
The jacket was made from sage-green calico material and reaches down to the thighs. It is double breasted with adjustable cuffs and a lay-down collar. There are two pleated patch pockets, one on each side of the jacket skirt, and two side pocket openings with buttoned flaps above those. The jacket also has a half-belt with two buttons and an inverted pleat at the back. Two rows of five buttons each are attached down the front, as well as two buttons on the cuffs. All buttons were made from grey-green plastic.
