History
Prior to 1933, many different unofficial belt buckles were worn. It is unknown when exactly standardization occurred. Afterward, the DJ belt buckle was worn by all non-leader ranks. Leaders of the DJ wore the HJ leader belt buckles.
The DJ belt buckle is rectangular and has a nickel-plated field showing a copper-plated Siegrune. The buckle was supposed to be made of copper and zinc. However, even after standardization was achieved, variations in colour, size, and materials were still common.
The DJ buckle was discontinued and replaced by the regular HJ buckle on April 30, 1937.
