History
The NPEA Student Dagger was worn by all students ages 14 to 18. It was worn on the left rear side of the uniform.
The dagger is of the same design as the standard political daggers, for example the SA dagger. It has a plain brown wooden grip without any eagle emblem. The bayonet-type scabbard is made of sheet metal and features olive-drab enamel paint.
The suspension device is a brown leather hanger, a so-called frog.
The crossguard was made of nickel or aluminum. It features information which includes at least an abbreviation of school’s location and a control number, but it might go so far as to include the student’s name, his graduation year, the full school name, and an end-term designation.
Etched into the obverse blade is the NPEA motto: “Mehr sein als scheinen” (Be more than you appear to be).
The student would retain the dagger after graduation.
