History
The pennants and flags of the HJ were used to represent the organisation at parades and events, or to represent a specific unit or Leader of the HJ.
Small pennants were commonly used for events and as decorations. About these individual versions there is limited information.
Prior to 1933, there were lots of different flag designs, as there were no regulations for standardisation yet. The flags were often homemade and rather crude in appearance.
A Bann was a regimental unit in the HJ.
The Bann flag has red, white, and red horizontal stripes and shows a Prussian eagle with a swastika on point on its chest, holding a white sword and a black hammer. Above the eagle’s had is a scroll with the Bann number.
