History
The pennants and flags of the HJ were used to represent the organisation at parades and events, or to represent a specific unit or Leader of the HJ.
Small pennants were commonly used for events and as decorations. About these individual versions there is limited information.
Prior to 1933, there were lots of different flag designs, as there were no regulations for standardisation yet. The flags were often homemade and rather crude in appearance.
With standardisation efforts of the early 1930s, what was to become the general HJ flag was introduced. It was first mentioned in a regulation from October 7, 1933.
The flag has red, white, and red horizontal stripes and shows a black swastika on point on a white square field.
Depending on what it was used for, sizes may vary considerably.
