History
The pennants and flags of the HJ were used to represent the organisation at parades and events, or to represent a specific unit or Leader of the HJ.
Small pennants were commonly used for events and as decorations. About these individual versions there is limited information.
Prior to 1933, there were lots of different flag designs, as there were no regulations for standardisation yet. The flags were often homemade and rather crude in appearance.
The flag of the NSDStB is a rectangle with a red field in the middle and a white and a red stripe at the top and the bottom. In the middle is a black swastika on a white diamond. It has silver fringe on the three non-hoist sides. In the upper left corner there is a light brown rectangular patch with silver-coloured metallic twist cord piping. The patch contains information regarding the individual student unit that carried the flag, like the city of their university, in white Gothic letters.
