As early as 1934, “Litzen” (bars) were worn on the lower left sleeve of sports uniforms to indicate rank.

Gebietsführer wore one silver-coloured “V” over three horizontal silver-coloured bars. So did Gebietsjungvolkführer in the DJ and Obergauführerinnen in the BDM.
