History

In general, the uniforms of the male Hitler Youth members consisted of a top, a neckerchief and woggle – but a tie for officers –, bottoms, a belt, knee socks, and shoes or boots.

The rain cape is first mentioned in a regulation from October 15, 1937. It is made from brown cotton cloth with a rubberized interior and was worn by all male members of the Hitler Youth during inclement, yet not too cold weather. It extends down to mid-calf level.

By 1943, a dark blue version existed as well, but there isn't any further information about it.
