History
The decoration was instituted in October 1941 by Field Marshal Albert Kesselring. It was donated for technical merit in the "Russian campaign".
It is rectangular with a small border about 3 cms from the dge, and simply shows a Luftwaffe eagle with an inscription underneath that reads: for outstanding technical merits in the East, Kesselring, General Field Marshal, Chief of Air Fleet 2.
The plaques are semi-hollow.
The award was given in a black case with white interior, as well as with an award document.
The German title of this award is "Ehrenplakette der Luftflotte 2".
