History
The German Confession Cross was donated by the General German People's Community (Allgemeine Deutsche Volksgemeinschaft) in the 1920s. The cross was awarded roughly between 1920 and 1936.
The German name of the Cross is "Deutsches Bekenntnis-Kreuz".
The decoration was awarded in two classes: the I Class with swords on the ribbon, the II Class without. Each class featured a different ribbon.
The cross consists of a Cross Pattée. The obverse with black and white enamelled arms features a red enamelled medallion in the centre bearing the inscription “TREU DEM VATERLAND” (loyal to the fatherland).
