    History

The Khedive's Sudan Medal (1910) was established by the Khedive of Egypt, Abbas Hilmi II, in 1911, as a replacement for the Khedive's Sudan Medal (1897). The Medal was presented by the Khedive in recognition of service and minor operations in South Sudan between 1910 and 1922. The Medal was issued in Silver with clasps to combatants and without clasps to non-combatants. The Medal was issued in Bronze without clasps to camp followers.

There are 2 versions of the Bronze Medal which differ by the obverse design. The first version features the Arabic cypher of Khedive Abbas Hilmi II along with the Hijri date of establishment "1328." The second version was instituted c.1914-1917 and features the Arabic cypher of Sultan Hussein Hamil and the Hijri date of "1335."
