History

The Culture and Arts (Farhang va Honar) Decoration was created to encourage and honour services in science, research, and art which contribute to the advancement of arts and culture in Iran. The Decoration was awarded in 3 Classes by the Iranian High Council of Culture to Iranian and foreign scientists, researchers, and artists, whose work is regarded by international standards to be of significant value to the advancement of a ...  rt and culture.

High ranking Iranian and foreign scientists, researchers, and artists may qualify for the I Class Decoration. Eligible service includes works of art, notable literary pieces and publications which advance Iranian culture and arts, reputable research which contributes to the understanding of Iranian civilisation, culture, art, history, and language, and other valuable services which bring international reputation to Iranian arts and culture.
