The Prison Service Medal of Distinguished Service (Itur HaMofet) was established by the Law of Decorations of the Israel Police and Prison Service in 1975. The Medal is awarded by the Prison Service Commissioner to members of the Israel prison service for acts of exemplary bravery. The Medal is similar to the Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

The Medal may also be awarded posthumously.
