The Prison Service Medal of Valour (Itur Hagvura) was established by the Law of Decorations of the Israel Police and Prison Service in 1975. The Medal is awarded by the Minister of Internal Security to members of the Israel prison service for acts of supreme heroism performed in the line of duty and which involves a significant risk to life or safety. The Medal is similar to the Police Medal of Valour.

The Medal may also be awarded posthumously.
