History

The Prison Service Volunteer's Medal was established by the Law of Decorations of the Israel Police and Prison Service in 1975. The Medal was awarded by the Prison Commissioner to members of the Israel prison service. The Medal is similar to the Police Volunteer's Medal. The Medal was discontinued on January 20, 2010.

The Medal may also be awarded posthumously.
