History

The Arab Independence Medal (Midalat al-Istiqlal al-Arabi) was established by King Hussein I of the Hejaz in 1921. The Medal was created in commemoration of Arab Independence from Turkish rule in 1916. The Medal was retained as an Iraqi and Jordanian award after 1925 and is believed to have been expanded to reward military and police personnel.

The obverse features an inscription in Arabic, translated as "In Commemoration of Independence 1334".
