    The Medal of Leadership Competence (Midalat al-Qafawat al-Qiyadiya) was established by King Hussein in 1986. However, the award originated as a ribbon bar only honour in 1976. The Medal is awarded to field commanders in recognition of a period of 12 months or more of distinguished service and demonstrations of competent leadership. The award may also be known as the Medal for Administrative and Leadership Competence.
