History

The Sultan Qaboos Order for Culture, Science and Art (Wisam Litaqafat wa al-'Aloom al-Sultan Qaboos) was established by Sultan Qaboos bin Said in 1990. The Order is issued in 3 Classes and an award for meritorious service and innovative achievements in the fields of science, culture, art, and education.

The II Class Decoration features both an Arabic and English inscription on the obverse which reads "SULTAN QABOOS OR ...  DER ORDER FOR SCIENCE CULTURE AND ART."

The II Class Decoration is worn by men from a neck ribbon and by women from a bow from the shoulder.
