History

The Order of the Star of Bethlehem 2000 is believed to have been instituted to commemorate the millennium. The Order may also be presented to honour personnel who have provided support of the Palestinian quest for freedom. Foreign nationals and foreign may be eligible for the award of the Order.

The Order may also be awarded posthumously.

The obverse features both an Arabic and English inscription for "Bethlehem 2000."
