History

The Order of Turkmenistan Galkynysh was created to reward both foreigners and Turkmenistan citizens for services to the state and society; including service industrial production, science, culture, literature, public education, public health, and public service. Qualifying service includes strengthening national independence, the development of branches of the national economy, an increase in production efficiency and stable high labour productivity, the development of science and technology, development of advanced production technologies, inventions and improvements with high technical and economic value, culture, literature, instruction and training, public health, development of trade, housing and utilities, communal services, and sport.

Recipients of the Order are also entitled to a monetary prize of 5 minimum monthly wages and an ongoing wage supplement of 30 percent of the minimum wage.
