History

The Commissioner's Community Service Commendation is an award that was added to the honours system of New South Wales in 2002. It is conferred upon sworn and unsworn members of the New South Wales Police Force who have raised a significant amount of money for community causes, or who have raised awareness about indigenous issues. Only individuals who completed these tasks in an unpaid, voluntary capacity can receive the Commendation.

The Commendation is a silver coloured bird with a circular Cross of St. George above its head. The insignia is attached to a blue ribbon with thin white border stripes.
