History

The Commissioner's Olympic Citation was added to the honours system of New South Wales in 2000. It was awarded to all Police Officers in NSW who were on duty between the dates of 15 September and 1 November 2000. The Citation was approved by the International Olympic Committee to reward the Police Officers who helped make the Sydney Olympic Games a success.

The Citation is a silver bar with a dark blue enamel panel in the centre that features the Olympic rings.
