History

Queensland Prison Service Officer’s Long Service Medal is a bronze medallion that features the emblem of the Queensland Prison Service on the obverse. The emblem is surrounded by a wreath and surmounted by the Crown of St. Edward. The inscription ‘LONG AND MERITORIOUS SERVICE’ runs along the lower circumference of the medal. The medal attaches to a rectangular ribbon suspender, and the top of the medal features a brooch suspender that has the recipient's name engraved on the reverse.
