The Logohu National Medal is associated with the Order of Logohu, which was instituted by Queen Elizabeth II and the Governor-General of Papua New Guinea by the National Honours System on August 23, 2005 (the 30th Anniversary of Papua New Guinea’s independence). The Papua New Guinea Honours System was created to nationally recognise outstanding contributions made in service of the state. The new Honours System is administered alongside with the British Imperial Honours System.
The Medal is awarded to recognise 5 years or more of exemplary career service to a community.
Recipients are entitled to the post-nominal letters LM.
