Gold medals were awarded to officers. Gilded bronze medals were awarded to non-commissioned officers.

The obverse features the cipher of King Wilhelm IV and an inscription, translated as “I ...  n Remembrance”. The reverse inscription translates to: “1818-June 20-1843” and “Czar’s Village”.
