This decoration is a Title of the Russian Federation.

History

The Title was retained by the Law of the Russian Federation 2555-1 dated March 20, 1992.

This Title and accompanying medal are conferred upon military flying units, military agencies, schools, organizations, and other agencies who have advanced the development of aviation technology.

The Title is a successor to the title of "Honoured Military Navigator of the USSR".

The obverse Russian inscription translates to: "Honoured Military Navigator" and "Russia".
