History

The Jaime Mota Medal of Military Merit is awarded to members of the Cabo Verdean Armed Forces and Reserves for meritorious service. It is named in honour of Jaime Mota, a member of the African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde who was killed during combat in Portuguese Guinea.
