The Royal Order of Ruzinko was established by King Mwambusta IV in 1962. It was conferred in recognition of exceptional service rendered to the nation and the King, but it is no longer awarded.

The obverse inscription translates to "The King Rules and Reigns," and the reverse inscription translates to "Kingdom of Burundi."
