Physical Description and Item Details


Decorations minted before 1961 had the arms of South Africa and the EIIR cypher on the reverse. After 1961, the arms alone were bourne.

History


This medal was intended to be awarded to members of the South African Defence Force for acts of gallantry on the battlefield; however, this award was never awarded. It was discontinued on April 27, 2003.
