History

This star was conferred solely upon the Commissioner of the KwaZulu Police in recognition of distinguished leadership and meritorious service in the interests of KwaZulu security.

The KwaZulu Police was established in 1980 and was assimilated into the South African Police Service in 1995; therefore, KwaZulu Police decorations and medals became discontinued in 1995.
