History

The Medal for the Second British Invasion (Medalla por la Segunda Invasión Inglesa) was instituted in Argentina by the Spanish Viceroy around 1807. It was awarded to the members of the Cabildo of Buenos Aires who led the defense of the city against British invading forces in 1807.

Many variations of this Medal are known.

Many commemorative Medals were created by the relatives of the fighters.
