History

The Mendoza to its Defenders Medal (Medalla para los Defensores de Mendoza) was instituted in 1820 to reward the revolutionary troops who fought against a Spanish royalist army in Jocoli, Mendoza.

There were authorized two different design; one for Officer, and other for the troops.

It is not clear if this Medal was struck in metals.

The Medal for Officer features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "Mendoza to Bravery and Patriotism of its Defenders 1820".
