    History

The Medal of Punta del Medano (Medalla por Punta del Medano) was authorized at the Province of Cuyo on February 28, 1822. The Medal was awarded to royalist Officers and men who defeated General José Miguel Carrera Verdugo, who was a very important revolutionary General at the War of Independence of Argentina.

It is not clear if the composition of the Medal denotes the rank to the recipient.

This Medal features a reverse inscription that can be translated to “I Abolished the Anarchy August 31,1821.”
