The Perdriel Medal (Medalla por Pedriel) was authorized in Argentina by the Spanish Viceroy on September 5, 1806. The Medal was established in recognition of those volunteers who defended Buenos Aires from British forces at the village of Perdriel on August 1, 1806.
There are two versions of this Medal that differ in composition; however, it is uncertain if the composition denotes the rank of the recipient.
They were made 30 gold and silver medals in total.
The Medal features an obverse inscription that stands for "Voluntarios Reconquistadores de Buenos Aires," and it can be translated to "Volunteers who Reconquered Buenos Aires."
