The Order of the Nicaraguan Army (Orden del Ejército de Nicaragua) was instituted on September 2, 1998. It is conferred upon Nicaraguan military personnel, civilians, and foreign dignitaries in recognition of outstanding contributions to the defense, security and independence of the Republic.
