Pickled copper, maker marked "D.E. BLACK Co" on the reverse, 39.8 mm x 58.8 mm, intact lugs, extremely fine.
This badge was worn by members of the 113th Infantry Battalion.
The Battalion was raised and mobilized in Lethbridge, Alberta under the authority of G.O. 151, December 22, 1915. The Battalion sailed September 27, 1916 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel W.A. Pryce Jones with a strength of 30 officers and 883 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 17th Reserve Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
