Multi-piece construction, silver gilt with red, blue, green, white, and yellow enamels, handpainted centrepiece on the reverse, unmarked, 52.5 mm x 73.7 mm inclusive of its wreath suspension, original ribbon, intact enamels, crazing evident in the enamels on the reverse centrepiece, scattered gilt wear, near extremely fine.
The Order was conferred upon Cubans and foreign citizens for exceptional military merit, but it is can also be awarded to recognize other services.
