    History

The Aeronautical Merit Star (Estrella del Mérito Aeronático) was created in Mexico on September 28, 1929. It was founded to reward air forced personnel in recognition of meritorious service during the performance of their duties.

This was the first medal that Mexico approved for the Air Force.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates "Aeronautical Merit 1 [2, 3] Class"and a reverse inscription that translates "Created y Decree September 28, 1929."
