History

The Star for Texas (Estrella por la Defensa de Texas) was established by the Mexican government on August 28, 1840. It was awarded to Generals, Chiefs, and Officers who fought against a Texan separatists army in battles such as San Antonio, Mission, Encinal, Goliad, among others.

The Star features a reverse inscription that can be translated to "He Fought for the Integrity of the National Territory."
